ONS Foundation, nytt medlem i EnergiRike
ONS Foundation har nylig gått inn som fullt medlem i interessefellesskapet EnergiRike.
I løpet av de siste 35 år har ONS bygget en av verdens ledende møteplasser om energi. Fra sitt tidligere fokus på offshoreteknologi og den norske kontinentalsokkel, har virksomheten nå blitt en møteplass for den globale energi-industri. Det siste tiåret har ONS innlemmet alternativ og fornybar energi i sin portefølje ved siden av olje- og gassektoren.
Offshore Northern Seas, ONS, er en olje- og gassutstilling og konferanse, som finner sted i Stavanger siste uke av august hvert annet år. Med sine omlag 35 000 besøkende i 2006 og 38 000 i 2008 er dette den nest størsteutstilling i verden i sitt slag. ONS har utviklet seg til å bli en av verdens ledende og mest autoritative energimøteplasser. Sentrale personer fra offentlig forvaltning, politikk, selskaper og bedrifter gis mulighet til å møtes for å lytte, diskutere og høre om saker av betydning for petroleumsvirksomheten.

ONS signs up as member of EnergiRike
EnergiRike is working to create a common understanding of the important role that energy use plays in terms of economic growth, the environment, job creation, regional developmentand growth in general.
The aim is to establish an awareness that energy is a key factor in promoting economic growth and job creation, and that it makes a major contribution towards sound industrial terms of reference, infrastructure and capacity.
ONS will exercise its membership of EnergiRike to support and assist in promoting the initiatives which the organisation is taking to develop know-how and understanding of the energy industry.
ONS believes that the work that EnergiRike carries out for students and young people is of key importance. As ONS sees it, a collaboration with the EnergiRike Student Forum is a key factor in ensuring that the energy industry cluster will be able both to promote understanding and disseminate knowledge.
ONS will utilise its network in order to enable it to assist in further strengthening its contacts with this target group. It is no less important to expand the network-building activities that are already underway with and between the various educational institutions. In this way we will create new networks and clusters which can make a contribution towards promoting a youth energy agenda in different parts of the country.
